I’m still in social distancing and confinement and even if it doesn’t change much my day to day, i have the feeling that the time has stop. I can’t see the spring coming, but i can still dream about it and paint it ! So this week it’s daffodil’s turn !
I’ve already paint this same subject with gouache and watercolor a few weeks ago. But this time i want to paint them with just watercolor and i want them to be all yellow. Like tiny little sun ! I can’t see them in nature, but this flowers are blooming on loads of instagram artist accounts. So why not on my paper too ?!
For this picture, i wanted it to be all about colors. I wanted lots of luminous colors. And even if there isn’t much details i think you can totally recognize them at first sight. I’ve put a lot of energy into them because i have a bit too much in me for now and it’s very freeing to be able to express yourself and deliver a bit of this energy onto the paper. I feel way better and i was able to express myself !

Paper : Arches rough
Colors : Indanthrene blue (Sennelier), Nickel azo yellow (Daniel Smith), Winsor red (Winsor & Newton), Lavander (Daniel Smith).

This is so beautiful! I love the negative painting – I always find that difficult in my painting practice. I’m looking forward to watching the video of this painting. 🙂
