Painting a hydrangea in watercolor and acrylic

For this week video i wanted to paint again with acrylic and watercolor and i choose a flower i love a lot : Hydrangea !

Firstly i painted the same subject with gouache because i wanter to be able to control what i was doing a bit more and i just wanted to paint with gouache because i haven’t in a long while. When i was creating this picture i got the idea to use acrylic like i’ve done in the sunflower video.

It was my first time using that much of acrylic fluid paint on watercolor paper and i thought it would behave like watercolor ! i was so wrong ! Acrylic paint does not move like watercolor on paper. The binder is different and doesn’t allow the color to flow and blend on the paper. It’s not a real probleme here, i just have to adapt and find what’s work for me !
