Painting a harbor in watercolor

This week i’m goind outside my comfort zone, but that’s for painting an image i wanted to paint for quite some time : this view of Barcelona’s harbor from Montjuïc.

Above you can have a peak at my creative process. Firts my reference image, second a really tiny study and last the more abstract painting that occured after the video below.

When i paint a subject difficult for me i like to take my time and i’ll think about it a lot. The tiny study is the perfect tool to see where the difficulty are in this image. And i also can test composition, perspective and colors.

  1. I love your painting using the QOR paints! I have a love hate relationship with them myself but the color vibrancy is always beautiful! Great painting! Hope to see more videos with you using the QOR paints?
