Painting roses in watercolor – Difficult

At the beginning of may, I went to an exposition of roses in the Cervantes parc in Barcelona. And of course it gaves me the inspiration to paint roses !

During my visit to the rose garden, i painted two study quite quickly of roses and other plant. But i knew that i wanted to make more paintings about roses ! For this week’s video, i choose the rose just above. A fairly simple flower but with a twist. The buds are orange and bloom to a white flower with pale yellow center. And when the flower mature more it becames almost pink !

This painting is difficult, i won’t hide it ! There is a lot of detail, a lot of elements and color mixes. But don’t be afraid to try it for yourself. You can always focus your work on some elements and learn from them.
